River Rip

-Clackamas River, OR

One of my favorite floats is the Upper sections of the Clackamas River in Oregon. Nothing to crazy mostly class 3 with the occasional class 4 if the waters flowing just right. But this is a beautiful stretch of river down the center of an old growth forest flowing with cold, crystal clear water.

Blacks Beach Rip

La Jolla, CA

Just south of the world famous Torrey Pines golf course and north of La Jolla you’ll find my favorite beach in San Diego, Blacks Beach. The only way to the golden sands and epic surf is to hike down the steep cliffs above the beach. There are three main ways to get down to the beach we took the Glider Port Trail it’s about an 800 foot decent over a mile. The path is short, steep and prone to landslides. Since it’s such a hassle to get there your usually free from the hording massing of most California beaches. Like any secluded beach you’ll find some interesting characters, tons of wildlife and arguably the best beach break in Southern California.
